Proper Use of This Medicine

Dosing - Take this medicine only as directed. Do not take more of it and do not take it more often than recommended on the label, unless otherwise directed by your doctor. To do so may increase the chance of side effects .

Swallow the extended-release tablet whole. Do not crush, break, or chew before swallowing.

The dose of cetirizine and pseudoephedrine may be different for different patients. The following information includes only the average doses of cetirizine and pseudoephedrine.

  • For oral dosage form (extended release tablets):
    • For relief of symptoms from seasonal or yearly allergies:
      • Adults and children 12 years of age and older - Take one tablet two times a day with or without food.
      • Children under 12 years of age - Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.

Missed dose - If you are taking this medicine regularly and you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.

Storage - To store this medicine:

  • Keep out of the reach of children.
  • Store at room temperature.
  • Do not store in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in other damp places. heat or moisture may cause the medicine to break down.
  • Do not keep outdated medicine or medicine no longer needed. Ask your health care professional how you should dispose of any medicine you do not use. Be sure that any discarded medicine is out of the reach of children.
