What are the signs and symptoms of the condition?

Mouth ulcers are generally yellow or gray in color and about 3 centimeters in size. Other signs and symptoms may include the following:

  • difficulty chewing
  • mild fever
  • pain when brushing or using mouthwash
  • soreness
  • swelling around the ulcer
