What are the signs and symptoms of the condition?

Nicotine has both stimulant and depressant effects on the central nervous system. It can cause a wide variety of symptoms, including the following:

  • alertness or relaxation
  • changes in mood and behavior
  • diarrhea
  • increased pulse and blood pressure
  • nausea and vomiting
  • tremors
