How is the condition diagnosed?

Diagnosis of aortic stenosis begins with a history and physical exam. The healthcare provider also may do one or more of these tests:

  • cardiac catheterization
  • chest X-ray
  • echocardiogram with or without color Doppler studies
  • electrocardiogram (EKG)
