DescriptionOpium preparations are used along with other
measures to treat severe diarrhea. These medicines belong to the group of
medicines called narcotics. If too much of a narcotic is taken, it may become
habit-forming, causing mental or physical dependence. Physical dependence
may lead to withdrawal side effects when you stop taking the medicine.
Opium preparations are available only with your doctor's prescription,
