What are the signs and symptoms of the disease?

Graft versus host disease primarily affects the skin, liver and intestines. However, other organs are sometimes affected as well. Symptoms may include:

  • skin rash
  • abdominal distress
  • jaundice, or yellowish coloring of the eyes and skin
  • nausea and vomiting
  • loss of appetite
  • diarrhea
  • hair loss, or alopecia
