What are the signs and symptoms of the disease?

Symptoms of RPGN include:

  • swelling or retaining of fluids
  • blood in the urine
  • high blood pressure
  • arthritis
  • rash
  • sore throat
  • coughing blood
  • shortness of breath
  • decreased urine output
  • uremia, which is a toxic condition caused when nitrogen by-products build up in the blood
  • Uremia may cause:

  • nausea and vomiting
  • fatigue
  • changes in mental status
  • hiccups
