Ammoniated Mercury (Topical)
Proper Use of This MedicineIt is very important that you use this medicine only as directed
. Do
not use more of it and do not use it more often than recommended on the label,
unless otherwise directed by your doctor. To do so may increase the chance
of absorption through the skin and the risk of mercury poisoning.
Do not use this medicine on deep or open wounds or
serious burns
. To do so may cause mercury poisoning.
Keep this medicine away from the eyes
.
Apply enough ointment to cover the affected area, and rub in gently.
Dosing - The dose of ammoniated mercury will be different
for different patients. Follow your doctor's orders or
the directions on the label
. The following information includes only
the average dose of ammoniated mercury. If your dose
is different, do not change it
unless your doctor tells you to do so.

Adults - Apply to the affected area(s) of the skin one or two
times a day.

Children - Use is not recommended.
Missed dose - If you miss a dose of this medicine, apply it as
soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the
missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
Storage - To store this medicine:

Keep out of the reach of children.

Store away from heat and direct light.

Keep the medicine from freezing.

Do not keep outdated medicine or medicine no longer needed. Be sure
that any discarded medicine is out of the reach of children.
