How is the injury recognized?

Seizures may cause major symptoms, such as the following:

an absence of breathing

a big change in behavior

loss of bowel and bladder control

loss of consciousness

muscle spasms that cause twitching or jerking of the arms, legs, or both

Other types of seizures may produce more subtle symptoms.
