conditions that contribute to the syndrome can help limit the intensity of the

also help decrease symptoms.
What are the long-term effects of the condition?
The most common long-term effect of restless leg syndrome is difficulty
sleeping. This can reduce a person's quality of life. It can also result in the
inability to sleep, called insomnia,
and problems that stem from lack of sleep, such as depression, violence, and accidents.
What are the risks to others?
Restless leg syndrome is not contagious but does tend to run in families.
