DescriptionFluoroquinolones (flu-roe-KWIN-a-lones)
are used
to treat bacterial infections in many different parts of the body. They work
by killing bacteria or preventing their growth. However, these medicines will
not work for colds, flu, or other virus infections. Fluoroquinolones may also
be used for other problems as determined by your doctor.
Fluoroquinolones are available only with your doctor's prescription, in
